About Gdynia

2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships

Gdynia the host to the Championship is one of the most favourably located Polish cities spreading over seven hills surrounded by forests and with the sea below.

Population of 244 thousand people (whole Tricity – Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia: 748 thousand) make it exceptionally attractive for those interested in entertainment and concerned with business both during warm but not excessively hot summers or during rather mild winters.

The venue will be Marina Gdynia – one of the largest and most up-to-date in Poland. One of its strengths is the location in the city centre. Number of yacht clubs committed to the Championship are located at the venue.

The venue being a part of the Premiere Waterfront District is located along the Bay of Gdansk and the forested cliffy coast 10 minutes walking distance from the city centre.

Marina Gdynia belongs to municipal properties. The most popular cultural and sport events used to be organized in that area. The restaurants, cafes as well as sail sawing and repairing, yachting accessories and catering are located at the venue.

The regatta headquarters and the venue are located in the city centre proximity creating unique opportunity for competitors, spectators and tourists unlikely comparable to any other sailing venues.
